UCAS received more than 61,000 applications for Oxbridge and medical schools by its October deadline, the highest ever recorded.
International students from outside the EU saw the biggest surge as their numbers rose by 12%, well above the increases of 1% seen in recent years. Applications from EU students rose by 6%.
Cambridge, Oxford and medical schools require an early deadline because places are limited and entry standards are higher, meaning entrance exams and admissions interviews need to be completed during the application phase.

Juliet, 33, made this known in a question and answer session held via InstaStories on Thursday. When asked by a fan what age she was when she lost her virginity, she simply replied: “30 years old.”
However, Juliet Ibrahim was previously married to a businessman, Kwadwo Safo, from 2010 – 2014. The couple have a child named Jayden Safo, born n 2010.

Oxford have released a new batch of sample interview questions which candidates must answer during the admissions phase to the world famous University.
The interviews are regarded as short conversations as opposed to straight question and answer sessions, and tutors at the University are looking for students to think critically on a topic, rather than showcase only their specific subject knowledge.
